“ The food is great and the business is beloved. My husband watched the current owner/manager grow up from high school, to schoolteacher, to return and help the parents, to manage it all. Steaks get high reviews. They grind their own beef and their own buffalo meat. Both excellent! Their grilled chicken breast sandwich is great too. Fries good, onion rings out of this world. Salad bar has been upgraded. Warriors memorabilia. TVs on to the game, of course. And yes, that is a genuine bull's head hanging on the wall. ”
“ Really good food and service. Have had bison, beef and chicken burgers and all of them excellent. James is a great server. ”
“ We came to Bullshead for dinner due to a friend's recommendation, as a large party of 9. Even though we came 40 minutes before closing, we were served with utmost care and they did not kick us out even though we stayed almost an hour past closing. I commend the restaurant for great service and accommodating our multiple requests. That said, the food was mixed. I did appreciate the healthier bison burgers, which were very large, but the burger itself was more plain with a soft untoasted bun, and was more no frills despite the higher price tag. The curly fries were tasty though, and the salad bar (which can be added to an entree for $7.50) came with a fairly extensive selection of things. The salad bar was running low on items though since it was the end of the day. The interior of the restaurant was cozy, and the restaurant is really not that big. Parking is street only and can get tricky, but the restaurant is also just outside the West Portal Muni station so you can easily take public transit in. Overall, the service and salad bar were great, but I was a bit underwhelmed with the burgers. ”
“ Old school burger and steak joint located near the West Portal Metro Station. Grill located at the front of the restaurant, brick and wood interior with sports memorabilia on the walls. Check out the M-F burger, fries and beer or drink special. Numerous burger and meat items, beef or bison, 1/3 or 1/2 pound burgers, various burger and vegetarian options. Many of the diners are loyal long time customers. Charming restaurant, good service, and good food. Parking can be a challenge - white drop off zone in front. ”
“ You can tell this is a neighborhood spot. Many locals come here to have a reasonably priced meal. It wasn't too loud and the service was good but slower when busy. We waited for about 10 minutes before we were seated. My husband said the turkey burger was good and that he would return for it... we are in search of the best turkey burger in SF. The sweet potato fries were amazing! Nice and crispy! My steak was juicy and cook was perfect. The only thing was that it wasn't seasoned. I salted my food and it was fine. I also love the salad bar. It offered a variety! ”
“ So glad to finally try this spot! I've been walking by for months and finally found the night to try. First of all - everyone who we interacted with was so friendly and service was incredibly fast. They were so kind helping us with a high chair. The vibes are old school and I loved it. Didn't get a chance to dive into the salad bar but will next time. I had the garlic burger which was perfectly cooked and delicious, my wife had a cheeseburger. We also got a burger for our daughter off the kids menu. 10/10 will be back again ”
“ Wanted fried chicken and this was the closest pace in my neighborhood. It was a half a chicken so great value. The breast was not dry, so all pieces were very crispy on the outside and tender/juicy on the inside. I also tried the fish and chips using cod. The fries were excellent and the deep fried cod was overcooked though. Tasty but dry. I think if the cuts of fish were thicker, it would have been just right. Bullhead is known for their steaks, so I realize I'm posting reviews on their other non-speciality menu items. Service was complete and quick. The ambiance is diner like, not posh, but they never were. ”
“ Doesn't look like much on the outside or maybe even the inside, basic is an understatement. If all you care about is aesthetics go somewhere else. If you want a fine piece of meat, great service and a superb deal, WELCOME TO BULLSHEAD!! I won't bore you with specifics but the ribeyes are great, the salad bar is an unbeatable deal and service is fast!! When I am in the area. I will be sure to check this place out again. ”
“ First time at this restaurant & best believe I'll be back! It's not super big inside, but the quality of the steak is super good. The service is so good and they serve the food pretty fast. Parking can be hard, but the food is really good ”
“ Do one thing and do it over and over extremely well Burgers because it is why you come here. JYW recommends ! ”
